How to Boost Traffic and Sales Using Pinterest?

Most Pinterest users use Pinterest to discover a new product or brand and with over 442 million people using this platform worldwide, you can imagine how well it can perform to drive quality traffic to your website or blog. Although many people wonder how to gain Pinterest followers quickly, there are several other ways that can help you increase your business sales easily.

The best thing about Pinterest is that it’s easier to rank on this platform than on Google, and your content won’t disappear from this platform in a few days, months, or even years.

If you’re interested in knowing different ways to boost traffic and sales using Pinterest, keep reading this article!

1.    Optimize Your Pins

If you want your pins to rank, you need to search for relevant keywords that can help you achieve this. Now, how can you search for keywords?

You can either look at the keywords your competitors are using in their pins, or search for keywords yourself using the Pinterest search bar.

For example, if you have a clothing brand, and you want to promote a “cotton top” on your Pinterest account, you should type and search for “cotton top” on Pinterest.

As soon as you hit the search button, you will see blocks of keywords on the top of the search result page. Use them in the title and description of your pins naturally.

2.    Optimize Your Boards Too

It’s essential to optimize your boards as well. Many people on Pinterest also want to follow boards that can give them inspiration and ideas.

If your boards aren’t optimized, how do you expect people to discover your boards and, ultimately, your brand? Again, you can use the same keyword research method listed above and incorporate keywords in the title and description of your boards.

3.    Create Visually-Appealing Pins

Pinterest is like a visual search engine, and users on this platform are more attracted to a visually-attractive pin. An attractive pin makes them click on the pin and most probably helps increase website clicks.

Most people believe that you should use brighter colors. However, if everyone starts using brighter colors when creating pins, how will you make your pin stand out among thousands of other pins?

For instance, if your niche has a majority of bright-colored pins (you can search for this), creating neutral-colored pins will make you look unique and attractive.

Moreover, using texts that explain what your pin is about in the image can also enhance the look. You can use Canva for this purpose.

4.    Incorporate Hashtags

Using relevant and appropriate hashtags in your pins will make your content more discoverable. However, you shouldn’t go overboard with them. Using 3 to 5 hashtags per pin is enough.

Hashtags also help attract a relevant audience to your page, so you get to boost traffic to your website or blog. Whenever you search for a keyword on the search bar, you will see automatic suggestions. You can use them in hashtags and make sure they are relevant to your content.

5.    Stay Consistent

You may have to post several times a day to increase your reach on Pinterest and this shouldn’t put you off from staying consistent on this platform. Having more pins on your page means you have a better chance of going viral on Pinterest.

If you can’t deal with posting every day on Pinterest, you can schedule your posts for the coming week using Pinterest’s in-built feature or a tool like Tailwind.
